Employee And Patient Sign-in Nov 11, 2008

Need a dual-purpose web portal for use in a Clinical setting as a sign-in system for patients and employees.

This software will be used on a touch-screen kiosk system that may or may not have a hardware keyboard, running on fairly mediocre hardware (~1ghz thin system) with a stripped OS (possibly linux-based) and networked. The data must be accessibly via a separate web portal on other computers on the internal network, but not outside of the office.

Visual design must be touch-friendly, with fairly large blatant labels and adequate separation between choices. (Integration of an on-screen keyboard will be a bonus, but not necessary.)

The program will be checking in 2 different groups. Patients and Employees.
Patient portal will have 4 data fields, but only 2 will be filled in by patient:
1)Name? [Text box]
2)Multiple Patients seen in this family? [Radio button or check-box]
3)Time IN [automatically populated, not seen on patient portal]
4)Seen by Dr? [yes/no, not seen on patient portal]

Employees must have a coded username they they will type into the name textbox of the patient portal. If the entry matches an employee’s username, a pop-up appears asking for password or PIN verification and has a free-text entry area. This does not happen for patient names. There is then a record created that has [employee name, time in, time out, notes] that will be used for employee payroll purposes.

The staff portal will essentially have, in tabular form, patient information above. This will sort patients by their TimeIN times, with the earliest at the top, and essentially read as [Time IN, Patient Name, Yes/No (family visit)]. If the “Seen by Dr.” field is set to Yes, then that patient’s name will no longer appear. This page must refresh regularly. At the end of the day, the list of patients seen is saved as a log file with that day’s date.
The second window of the Staff Portal simply has a list of employees and an indicator if they are signed in or not.

The Staff portals must be viewable on multiple machines simultaneously (up to 15) and the patient portals will be on 3-5 machines. Preferred set-up would be a Client-server model, with the portals being hosted on one computer (which may be a workstation), and being viewed/edited by the other machines in the office. No more than 10 machines will be accessing these records at one time.

There must be a way of exporting the timesheet to CSV or excel format to be easily used by our HR department. This must be a secured file and will only be accessibly with a username/password
