I have a client who needs a directory based site that will allow for payment processing as well. To get reference take a look at the following site:

His site will be a real estate site like this, but it needs to incorporate the following functionality:

Back End

He wants to have the ability for 3 types of members, realtors (people selling homes), Home Builders, and Home Vendors (people selling home products) to build profiles on this directory site. They will be able to upload info about their property, pictures, contact info etc for a membership fee. The fee will initially be processed through the site and debited from their account monthly. Each type of member will have a different monthly cost. We will need to be able to make that distinction when they create their profiles.

He wants to be able to accept major credit card and payment by fax. Those who pay by credit card will have their property listed immediately, those who pay by fax will have their property listed once payment is received and processed. If necessary client will set up his own merchant account to process payments.

These “members” will need the ability to add their properties, delete their properties, change passwords, add videos of the property, edit profiles, etc.

Front End

When a visitor comes to the site, they will be able to search the database by 3 different categories. Based on the types of members we have, a visitor can search for a home to live in (realtor), a home that is being built (Home Builder), or they can search for product to add to their existing home (Home Vendors). The search function should be able to allow visitors to search within a certain radius (50 miles) or nationwide.

The site needs a contact form that will ask the visitor a series of predefined questions, so we can collect this info and provide it to our members. We will provide you with the predefined questions that the visitor will have to answer. They will answer the questions by checking boxes with the most appropriate answers. So, Once the visitor requests information they can fill out the form and the form will be maintained in the cms and the visitor will be sent a confirmation email.

The users that come to the site will also have the ability to create profiles that will allow them to come back to the site and log in to continue their searches.

Look & Feel

Client wants the site to resemble the site in the link, but have a featured listing window that is either flash or ajax. He wants something eye catching, but not too much that will take away from the info on the home page.

We don’t have a specific CMS in mind, but the core elements are directory based with ecommerce.
